MODIFY at WVU CED home

While our response to COVID-19 has changed the way we are doing things, our services to our MODIFY youth continue. All interactions with staff are done remotely via phone, email, or social media. All new referrals will be followed up in a timely manner. Staff work cell numbers and emails remain the same.     Betsy Hill is a MODIFY Community Support Specialist who works out of Parkersburg, WV. Betsy holds a Bachelor’s degree for Marshall University in Counseling and Rehabilitation and a Master’s degree in Special Education from West Virginia University. She has been with the MODIFY Program since 2000. Betsy provides post-secondary education and independent living services to former foster youth. Betsy enjoys other people’s success. She feels the people we work for are not successes because they become more educated; they are successes because they have overcome the fear, distrust and pain of their childhood that makes becoming an industrious adult possible.     Rhonda Bills is a MODIFY Community Support Specialist who works out of Huntington, West Virginia. Rhonda holds a MA and a BA from Marshall University. She has been with the MODIFY team since 2002. Rhonda provides post-secondary education and independent living services to former foster youth. Rhonda says she loves the challenges, rewards and complexities of working with teens and young adults. She wants to help others navigate that turbulent, wonderful, uncertain and adventurous time.     Kellie Stafford is a Community Support Specialist who works out of the Oak Hill, WV area for the southern region. Kellie holds a degree in Behavioral Sciences and has practiced Social Work with foster care since 2004. She has been with MODIFY services since February 2019. Kellie provides post-secondary and living skills assistance to former foster care youth. Kellie enjoys working with the youth in helping them to succeed in becoming a self-sufficient adult.

    Debra Schaible is a NYTD Questionnaire Specialist who works out of Charleston, West Virginia. Debra is working on a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Strayer University and holds a certificate as a Child Development Specialist. She has been with the MODIFY and NYTD team since December 2014. Debra administers the NYTD Questionnaire and provides resources to youth who are or have been in care up to the age of 21. Debra works as a NYTD Specialist because it gives her an opportunity to work with older youth and help them see the potential they have. Debra’s favorite quote is, "If he brings you to it, He’ll bring you thru it!" She also signs everything with a smiley face. ☺
